CHICAGO WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- For the second time this week, teachers at a Chicago charter school network have voted to authorize a strike, which would be the first ever at a U.S. charter school if it happens.

Nearly 140 Chicago International Charter School (CICS) teachers voted at its four campuses.  Only five voted not to authorize a strike.  CICS Northtown  Teachers’ Council President Jen Conant said there is much to discuss, including class size, funding for special education students, pay and benefits, health care and parental leave.

Negotiations are scheduled next week.  Conant and union officials say they will discuss their next move after that,

Earlier this week, teachers at the Acero network, the former UNO schools, voted to authorize a walkout.
