CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The warm weather in the Chicago-area this weekend has many people getting out to enjoy a little nature.

On Chicago's South Side, people flocked to Washington Park. Some chose to ride their bikes or walk along the paths that circle the park's lagoon.

The lagoon also attracted several people who decided to give fishing a try. One man from Hyde Park, who called himself L.E.P Cheese, took his cousins out to teach them how to fish. He also said it was a chance for his family to spend a peaceful afternoon in nature and get away from the violence that has plagued some South Side neighborhoods.

Others took advantage of the warm weather to spend time on the grassy areas that surround the Washington Park lagoon. Some had picnics, while others just spent a few relaxing hours relaxing and watching the geese lazily swim across the lagoon.
