Bears Take On Patriots At Soldier Field

October 21, 2018 - 11:44 am

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A last-second hail mary attempt failed as the Bears lost to the Patriots 38-31 at Soldier Field Sunday.

Fresh off a disappointing loss in Miami, the 3-2 Chicago Bears were seeking to bounce back against a Tom Brady-led Patriots team that is heating up. The high-flying Pat's offense will meet a formidle opponent in the Bear's defense in what is one of Jeff Joniak's keys to the game.

The Bears' defense got a boost in efforts against the Patriots with pass rusher Khalil Mack listed as active for the game. Mack had been questionable with an ankle injury this week. Also active for this game is wide receiver Allen Robinson. And with Mack bothered by an ailing ankle, Leonard Floyd is hoping he can have a bigger hand in the Bears' defense. For the Patriots, star tight end Rob Gronkowski is inactive today.

On Offense, the Bears will focus on ball security as the Patriots' defense leads the league in points scored and has 12 takeaways. Mitch Trubisky will have his hands full with a defense that disguises coverage.
