15-Year-Old Shot, Critically Wounded In Lawndale

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 15-year-old boy was shot and critically wounded Saturday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen about 10:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Lawndale, according to Chicago Police. The circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately known.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
