CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) --“Let’s just say during the holidays, we live on hot chocolate.”

About a third of the vendors at Christkindlmarket Chicago have been there from the beginning, but new this year is Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate, serving up, you guessed it - hot chocolate!

But this is not just any hot chocolate.

“It is made from 100 percent imported Belgium chocolate. We mix dark and milk together and we put in heavy cream and milk; and we also make homemade whipped cream to top it off. It’s delicious and we also have these wonderful cookies that go along with it,” said Lenore Luthern-Bausch, of Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate.

Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate was a pop-up booth last year at Christkindlmarket Naperville and they were so excited when they were invited to have a permanent booth this year at Christkindlmarket Chicago.

“We absolutely love the holidays, and of course, we love chocolate,” Luthern-Bausch said.

And grabbing a cup of hot chocolate is not the only thing offered at the Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate booth.

“You can buy a hot chocolate mix, and you can actually eat the mix with a spoon. It is pure chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, sugar - it’s all the good stuff. Very, very, very elegant and just delicious,” she said. “We also have these hot chocolate sticks and all the ingredients to make hot chocolate are in the stick. You just stir it into hot milk and enjoy. It’s fabulous. Unlike maybe other sticks that just might be a little hunk of chocolate, a little cube of chocolate, this is the actual - all the ingredients are in the stick.”

Guests can also enjoy Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate in a special Christkindlmarket boot mug or the Kinder Club penguin mug. So if you are in the mood for some good hot chocolate and were also hoping to get a Christkindlmarket mug - Bob’s Belgium Hot Chocolate is the stop to be sure to make.

“These penguin cups are so cute. They are the cutest, I believe they have ever had,” Luthern-Bausch said. “They are adorable. This is the Kinder cup and this is the boot, the long-awaited boot. Next year is going to be our [Christkindlmarket’s] 25th anniversary, so everyone is just prepping for that big, big day. But we are already celebrating with the boot. So many people asked us last year - we were a pop-up booth - where’s the boot? Here’s the boot!”
