CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The city of Naperville is ready to kick off its annual Ribfest on Wednesday.

Pete Paulsen, Co-Chair of The Exchange Club said the rain did not slow down set up Wednesday morning and they team were taking steps to make sure the festival opened on time at noon.

"What we are doing is we are spreading mulch around to soak up the water," he said. "The sun is going to come up and the sun's going to dry it all out shortly. This park drains very, very quickly."

Pitmasters were ready, too, firing up the grills to prepare for the lunch rush.

Donna Rice, owner of Desperados BBQ & Catering, described her ribs as "tender and they've got a little tingle.

"We have three different sauces you can add, so that you can mix and match it according to what flavor you like."

If the smell of barbecue is not enough to draw you in, this weekend's lineup includes Billy Idol, Flo Rida, Brantley Gilbert, and Bad Company.

This is the last year the ribfest will be held at Knoch Park in Naperville.

The Exchange Club of Naperville's Ribfest takes place Wednesday, July 3 through Saturday, July 6. It is open daily noon-10 p.m.
