CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Do you remember the days of simpler reality TV where contestants didn't just vy the cameras and start drama to get attention? You could be part of that reality on the next "Real World."

The MTV reality TV show just announced it will be relaunching after its most recent 32nd season and is coming to Chicago in the search for new roommates, according to its casting page. Facebook Watch is teaming up with MTV to revamp the original storyline where strangers live in a fancy house and deal with the drama that unolds for the world to watch. But this time, it will be streamed online through Facebook, which started Aug. 9 and features news programs, shows and reality content for Facebook consumers.

On Dec. 8, Chicagoans feeling nostalgic about the 90s hit show or who want a change of scenery, lifestyle and gossip can audition for the show. Auditions will be held at Bar Louie in the South Loop from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Contestants must be 21 to enter and if you can't make the audition in person, you can apply online.

"Real World," produced by Bunmin-Murray Productions, started in 1992 and was the longest-running program in MTV history. It was also one of the longest-running reality series in history and is considered to have influenced the modern TV genre, especially for the topics it discussed. Contemporary young adult issues such as religion, sex, substance abuse, abortion, sexuality, mental health and politics were not openly talked about on reality TV but now they are commonplace. According to MTV, who announced the revamp of the show in October, the show was celebrated for its diverse cast and honest portrayal of these difficult conversations that generated in youth media culture.

This new twist on the classic show will be interactive, meaning the Facebook community can connect with house guests, vote one in prior to the show's airdate, and see daily drops of scenes on Facebook Live, Premieres and Watch Party.

People on Twitter are sharing their excitement -- and disappointment -- on the show and the reboot news.

The partership will produce three new seasons with three different casts and three locations: Mexico, Thailand and the United States. Each series will explore friendship and the cultural and social environment in each unique location. It is scheduled to be released in 2019.

So, Chicago: If you want to be on TV and travel the world, meet some new people, push the boundaries of cultural narratives and maybe even get famous, you should bring a recent photo and a photo ID to the casting call on Dec. 8.
