Mt. Sinai Hospital Has Second Lockdown Within Days

May 07, 2018 - 3:10 pm

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mount Sinai Hospital was placed on a brief lockdown Monday afternoon -- the second lockdown for the hospital within days.

Dan Regan, the communications and public relations director of Mt. Sinai, said the actions of a large crowd in the main lobby prompted the lockdown around 1:45 p.m.

The group was unruly, and hospital security was called to the scene, Regan said.

The crowd dispersed when police arrived. There's no word from police on whether they made any arrests.

On Saturday, Mt. Sinai was also locked down after shots were fired outside the hospital. That lockdown lasted for about three and a half hours.
