CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- This is Day 2 of Amazon Prime Day, and the company says on Day 1 its sellers worldwide "saw the biggest 24-hour sales day in Amazon history."

Meanwhile, the neighborhood mom-and-pop store gets by.

"Amazon Prime Days do not worry me in terms of business,” said Kevin Krasney.

He’s the third-generation owner of Cole's Appliance and Furniture Company on Chicago’s North Side. It’s been at 4026 N. Lincoln Ave. since 1946.

Krasney concedes Prime Day is huge but said people who make appliance purchases realize “the level of service they need to come with it can't come from a company like Amazon."

Krasney said a couple of years ago, he decided to close Cole's on Black Friday, when competitors are marking down large items and drawing big crowds.
