CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Thanksgiving Day plans include family and maybe a little Bears football...maybe.

Mayor Lightfoot will be home for the holidays and her 91-year-old mother will be spending Thanksgiving with her. They will share the cooking, she said. As for other pastimes, it does not sound like the Mayor will be making her mother sit down that afternoon to watch the Chicago Bears play the Detroit Lions.

"My mother is actually a big football fan," Lightfoot said. "Some of you know that the town that I grew up in is a high school football crazy, mania place and my mother is a big sports fan, so I am sure she will watch a little bit of it. The question is, will it be worth watching? And that remains to be seen."

She is hoping the Bears bring more offense to the table.
