CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- "They are fighters' they don't give up," Matt Nagy said of the Bears team, who won against the Broncos Sept. 15 in Denver.

Eddy Pineiro kicked a 53-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Chicago Bears a wild 16-14 win over the Broncos and their former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, whose gutsy 2-point call 31 seconds earlier had given Denver the lead.

Listening to the winning kick for the first time, Nagy complimented Pineiro on the timing of the kick and how it carried the game.

"What a great time for him to come through and make that kick," he said. "It was a special day for him."

Nagy said he is proud of the team for winning its first game of the sason. The value of this victory is more than just a one-win game, Nagy said.

It is certainly hard to win on the road, he added, but the strength of the team was key in the game, as well as noticing that their hard work pays off is push to keep going, especially on other away games, the coach said.

Nagy said it was "crazy" coaching the last minute of the game and said there was constant communication going on to "stick it and get that win."
