CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Andy Warhol, the artist known for saying everyone will be famous for 15 minutes, will get three consecutive months of attention in Chicago beginning later this year.

“Andy Warhol – From A To B And Back Again,” currently showing in New York, will open at the Art Institute of Chicago on Oct. 20 and run through Jan. 26, 2020. It will be an extra-admission event, but prices haven’t been set yet.

Art Institute officials say the 350 works that comprise the retrospective will go beyond Warhol’s familiar identity as a 1960s-era pop art provocateur. The pieces on hand will include paintings, sculpture, videos.

The museum already houses several of its own Warhol works.

“This presentation demonstrates that the artist didn’t slow down after surviving the assassination attempt that nearly took his life in 1968 but entered into a period of intense experimentation,” the Art Institute says on its website.

Warhol died in 1987.
