CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- At least one prominent politician didn't waste any time in making a legal pot purchase.

Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton took part in the first day of legal marijuana sales by being a customer. 

Cresco Labs said Stratton purchased a tin of edible pot at Sunnyside's Lakeview dispensary.

According to Cresco Labs, bought “a 100 mg tin of Mindy’s Edibles Glazed Clementine Orange Gummies in a 5 mg per piece dose," which the company said is “a very popular microdose for beginning edible consumers.”

She touted Governor Pritzker's move to issue more than 11,00 pardons for people convicted of misdemeanor marijuana cases.

“I’m here to celebrate a big day in Illinois,” she said. “This was the last piece. We campaigned on it. We saw it through.”

Chicago Alderman Tom Tunney was also spotted at the busy dispensary.
