CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Loop bar where former Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson was drinking before he was found asleep in his police vehicle has a reputation.

The Ceres Cafe is known for strong drinks. Online reviews of the bar, which is in the lobby of the Board of Trade Building, talk of glasses full of liquor and ice with an unopened can of mixer served on the side.

The Chicago Tribune quotes a trader as saying two or three drinks at Ceres will get anyone in trouble. The paper says the Inspector General has surveillance video showing Johnson drinking with a woman on his security detail for hours at the bar.

It's part of the investigation into the night in October when Johnson was found asleep in his car. The then-superintendent was allowed to drive himself home without a sobriety test.

Johnson reportedly told Mayor Lightfoot he had a couple of drinks that night, but he attributed his dozing off to a switch in his medication. He announced plans to retire, but Lightfoot fired him early this week after learning some of the details about Johnson's behavior.
