CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Thousands of people, most of whom appeared to be teenagers, flocked to Grant Park for Day One of the four-day Lollapalooza Music Festival on Thursday.

WBBM Newsradio spoke to several fest-goers, including music fans from Mokena, Itasca and Naperville. Most of them said they were going to be attending at least two days of the festival, while some said they bought four-day passes, paying as much as $400.

Many vendors lined the streets of Michigan Avenue on Thursday, some selling wristbands needed for entry to the fest, others hawked water and t-shirts.

Childish Gambino, The Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande and Lil Wayne were among the artists for whom people expressed the most excitement.

The festival is from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Lollapalooza has been held in Chicago since 2005.
