Khalil Mack, Allen Robinson Off Injury Report; Bears Rule Out Dion Sims

November 09, 2018 - 1:50 pm

(670 The Score) The Bears are expecting the return of star outside linebacker Khalil Mack and No. 1 receiver Allen Robinson on Sunday, as neither appeared on the game-status injury report that was released Friday.

After missing the last two games, Mack (right ankle) and Robinson (groin) are slated to return to action when the Bears (5-3) host the Lions (3-5) at Soldier Field. The team officially ruled out tight end Dion Sims (concussion) while listing defensive lineman Bilal Nichols (knee) as questionable.

Mack made a major impact before getting his right ankle rolled up on Oct. 14. He posted five sacks, four forced fumbles and a pick-six in his first four games in a Bears uniform. He was shut down for the last two weeks while the Bears allowed his ankle to heal.

Robinson has posted 25 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season. He also was injured during that game in Miami on Oct. 14 and aggravated it against the Patriots on Oct. 21.

The Bears won both of their games without Mack and Robinson, doing so by a combined score of 65-19 against the lowly Jets and Bills. Starting Sunday, they face a string of three division games in 12 days.

"You spend your whole training camp and whole season preparing for November and December football, hoping to get into January," Robinson said. "That's the plan. Being back healthy at the right time is definitely good."

Detroit comes to Chicago with injury issues, as it was forced to hold guard T.J. Lang (neck) and cornerback Darius Slay (knee) out of practice Friday. As of early afternoon, Detroit had yet to release its final game-status report.

Kickoff between the Bears and Lions comes at noon CT Sunday from Soldier Field.
