CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- With prom season just around the corner, members of the Illinois Judges Association are pushing a program that they hope will keep teenagers out of their courtrooms.

It’s called "Seven Reasons to Leave The Party." Ben Braun, associate judge in Will County, said the video centers around a teenaged house party with illegal activity going on in different rooms.

“We walk these students through each room of that party and use examples from actual court cases and hopefully give people reasons not to be in that party," Braun said.

Aimed at 9th thru 12th grade students, the program also looks at what can happen if teens don’t leave the party. Braun said kids can lose a lot with one wrong choice.

“Loss of a car, loss of driving privileges, loss of money, los of trust from parents and coaches and teachers, [even> a criminal record," he said.
