CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A few dozen college students whose families live in Chicago Housing Authority residences met potential employers Tuesday afternoon at a job fair.

Twenty-three-year-old Kenneth Randall grew up in CHA housing. He arrived at the job fair meet-and-greet.

"Hi Kenneth. So what school do you go to?" he was asked.

"I got to UIC."

"Oh, I'm an alum from UIC.  What's your major?"

"Graphic design."

Randall talked with WBBM Newsradio about his love for design.

"When I look across the room or something like that, instead of someone that just sees tables, I see the shapes of tables. Anything I look at, I automatically pick out the shapes."

Randall makes key chains. He'd like to work for a company.

"Designing for a company or like getting that professional experience, and then using that to bring it in to my own business for something to do in the future."

Nineteen companies were represented at the job fair.
