CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Illinois health officials confirm an unvaccinated person diagnosed with measles arrived at Midway Airport earlier this month.

They're investigating what they're calling an isolated case. The infectious passenger arrived Feb. 22 and sought treatment at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, officials said.

“Most people are vaccinated routinely in childhood and are not at high risk. Of most concern are people who have not been vaccinated,” the Illinois Department of Public Health said in a news release Thursday. “Individuals who think they have been exposed should check with their health care provider about protection through prior vaccination or the need for vaccination.

Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control said it's confirmed 160 cases of measles in 10 states since the start of the year.

Five of those cases are in Illinois; all of the patients were not vaccinated.
