October 26, 2018 - 7:05 pm

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two separate clusters of Legionnaires’ disease are being investigated by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

State investigators say one cluster involves residents in McHenry and Lake counties. Investigators say one possible exposure point might have been the Walmart in Johnsburg.

The Walmart location has taken action, including turning off the produce water sprayers.

The other cluster involves people living at the Warren Barr South Nursing Home in the 1700 block of South Wabash in Chicago.

State health officials said the two clusters are not related.

The state is investigating possible sources, identifying other individuals who may have been exposed, and recommending remediation and prevention measures.
