(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Just in time to toast Illinois on its 200th birthday, the state has unveiled its official bicentennial beer.

1818 Prairie State Farmhouse Ale is now available at most Binney's and Jewel-Osco stores across the state, as well as in some restaurants and bars.

Hand of Fate Brewing out of Petersburg won a contest at the Illinois State Fair over the summer to develop the birthday brew.

“This is a great Illinois small business story,” Gov. Bruce Rauner said in a prepared statement. “Hand of Fate started their business less than two years ago and this opportunity is helping catapult their well-earned success.”

The governor's office says it's made from Illinois corn, wheat and oats.

1818 is being distributed by Breakthru Beverage Group, which is run by Rocky Wirtz.

The state's official birthday is Dec. 3.
