CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker went to Chicago's West Side Tuesday to unveil the part of his transition team that will focus on education.

Pritzker's Education Success Committee includes as co-chairs lawmakers who are experts in higher-education and education funding. Chicago Public Schools CEO Janice Jackson is one of the leaders of the panel, as well.

The incoming governor promised to listen more and not repeat the failures of the past.

Pritzker said he still wants a moratorium the expansion of charter schools, though he is not suggesting getting rid of charters.

He said he also supports a minimum salary for teachers, something that State Sen. Andy Manar -- a committee co-chair -- has proposed in legislation.
