CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More than one hundred people were lined up outside PAWS Chicago Saturday morning before the doors even opened today for a free adoption event.

PAWS is waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats that have been at the shelter the longest with its Summer Lovin' adoption event.

Joan Harris, director of training at PAWS, said it was "overwhelming" and "wonderful" to see so many peple who want to take animals home.

The event will take place at its Lincoln Park adoption center at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
