Hockey Retailer Pays Tribute To Stan Mikita
RIVER FOREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Gunzo's Hockey Headquarters in River Forest had a Stan Mikita jersey hanging in the window Tuesday to honor the Blackhawks legend.
The Hall of Famer and 1961 Stanley Cup champion passed away at the age of 78.
“He’s part of the history, part of the history of hockey in general,” Gunzo’s owner Joe Grano said. “When you say legends of Chicago athletes – Dick Butkus, Michael Jordan, Bobby Hull – Mikita’s right up there.”
Gunzo's on Madison expects to sell a lot more Mikita jerseys once the hockey season begins.
