CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago Police say they suspect the burglary of a Logan Square cannabis dispensary early this week was an inside job.

Police Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says "well over" $100,000 in cash was taken from the MOCA Modern Cannabis Dispensary in the 2800 block of West Fullerton.

"We do not suspect this was just a random street burglary -- meaning, somebody came in off the street and attempted to rob this store," he said Friday.

Guglielmi says police do suspect an inside job: "We suspect that the person or people who did this had inside knowledge of not only the store's operations but where things were placed within the business, and they may have gotten some help from individuals who may have been affiliated, or perhaps even worked at the store."

Detectives have swabbed for physical evidence in the store, he said.
