NAPERVILLE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Radioactive uranium was discovered in a Naperville home Wednesday morning.

The homeowner found it in a brown package in her basement, with a warning label that clearly said it contained radioactive uranium.

The hazmat team responded. As precaution, police shut down the block, Huntleigh Drive just off Naper Boulevard.

After running some tests, it was determined there wasn't enough uranium in the package to be considered hazardous, and the hazmat team said it posed no threat to the public.

A neighbor said the late husband of the woman who discovered it had been a scientist.
