GLEN ELLYN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Parents, students, and teachers in one western suburb rallied Monday evening in support of a superintendent whose future appears to be up in the air.

Paul Gordon became superintendent of Glen Ellyn School District 41 in 2013. With his contract set to expire at the end of the current school year, board of education members have shown no indication that he’ll return.

That isn’t sitting well with some teachers and parents who held a demonstration Monday outside the district office.

“Our students are growing academically, he’s gotten through so many projects in the district that have not been passed before,” science teacher Dina Sbarra said.

Others say if the board opts to search for a new superintendent they should at least be moving on that process now, to attract the best candidates.
