Funeral Arrangements Set For CFD Diver

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for the Chicago Fire Department diver who died Monday evening while searching for a man in the Chicago River.

Visitation for 46-year-old Juan Bucio will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Rita of Cascia High School, 7740 S. Western Ave.

Bucio’s funeral is noon Monday, also at St. Rita. The burial ceremony will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 4101 S. Oak Park Ave., in southwest suburban Stickney.

Bucio, a firefighter who specialized in diving, was in the water during a rescue operation in the 2600 block of South Ashland. He was pulled from the river and was later pronounced dead.
