(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Fluffy lives! A Montana cat became an Internet sensation after photos emerged of its near-death experience being nearly frozen to death and then revived at a veterinarian’s office.

The incident happened Jan. 31, when Fluffy’s owners found her outside, encased in snow, according to the Animal Clinic of Kalispell.

“We speculate that Fluffy had endured some kind of trauma that prevented her from getting to her safe place,” a clinic representative tells WBBM Newsradio in an email.

The cat was essentially frozen and unresponsive, according to the clinic, which posted pictures of Fluffy’s resuscitation. One image shows a clinic worker running a hair dryer over a wet -- but revived -- cat.

“Her temperature was very low but after many hours she recovered and is now completely normal,” the clinic said in a Facebook posting.

Another picture shows Fluffy dried and looking like a million dollars. This is actually a picture taken of the cat the following week, during a follow-up visit, the clinic said.

It is anybody's guess as to how many lives Fluffy used up in her recent misadventure.

“We truly hope that Fluffy's story can help other pet owners be aware of ways to help their indoor and outdoor pets stay safe and the importance of seeking medical attention right away vs attempting to treat their pets on their own,” the clinic representative said in the email to WBBM Newsradio. “Our doctors and staff didn't do anything different than any other veterinarian and team would do. We (and Fluffy!) are grateful for Fluffy's owners for acting quickly in a scary situation.”
