CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Even as the Chicago-area sees drier weather in the forecast, some local rivers still face possible flooding due to the rain we've seen in recent days.

WBBM's Jim Gudas reports.

National Weather Service meteorologist Matt Friedlein says low-lying and especially flood prone areas along the Des Plaines, DuPage and Fox rivers, as well as the North Branch of the Chicago River, could see waters rise enough to cause flooding.

Friedlein blames all the rain we've seen over the past week and a half, and in particular a record rainfall on Monday.

At O'Hare, about two inches fell on Monday, eclipsing the old record for May 21 by nearly an inch.
