CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- In honor of WBBM Newsradio's 50th anniversary, some of WBBM Newradio's sportscasters, past and present, have shared their Newsradio memories.

WBBM Newsradio's Josh Liss remembers the late Eric Brown, looking back at his career with the station.

Liss said Eric Brown chose his words carefully and often wrote them out in longhand, dedicated to penmanship as much as professionalism.

"In a me first business, he would listen first. In an industry built on opinion, he would measure the facts and invite thoughtful debate," Liss said.

Eric Brown covered a lot of baseball games, including a lot of odd stuff on North Side and a World Series title on the South Side.

Liss describes Brown as the "World's Nicest Sportscaster."

Athletes from Michael Jordan, to Mike Ditka, to Ozzie Guillen and others would recognize Eric Brown for his easy smile and would respect him for his fair treatment, Liss said.

"He worked hard at every sportscast, every story, waking up early on the weekends, working late during the week, as late as it took to serve you - the WBBM listener, the sports fan. And we will always be fans of Eric Brown," Liss said.

Here's a look back at his Chicago Bulls coverage.
