CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- One of the most iconic guitars in music history is now on display in Chicago.

This guitar caused a scandal. It’s the 1965 Fender Telecaster that Bob Dylan played at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.

The audience booed when Dylan went electric because Dylan was a folk singer; folk singers played acoustic instruments.

Carey Cranston, president of the American Writers Museum, said the moment was a revolution in sound.

The guitar is the centerpiece of a new exhibit at the museum devoted to the singer and songwriter. Dylan won the Nobel Prize for literature in 2016.
