Emanuel To Write Book On The Influence Of Cities

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Rahm Emanuel may be giving up the title of Chicago mayor next spring, but he’ll be spending his time on a literary project: writing a book on leadership.

Emanuel said Tuesday he’s been thinking about writing this work for about two years.

The premise: Cities are now the place to look for innovative ideas.

“In the ‘60s, mayors would go to Washington and say, ‘Save us.’ Today, 50 years later, we go to Washington and say, ‘Let us save you.’ That’s a big change,” Emanuel said.

The book will be published by Knopf.
