The grade school was placed on lockdown until 4 p.m. as a precaution, police said. The incident did not involve the school or any students. No other schools were affected.

Police said the area was secure and that two people of interest were in custody.

A spokesman for Evanston police did not immediately reply to a request for additional details. A call to Orrington Elementary School went unanswered.
