There was a floating protest on the Chicago River today, as environmentalists paddled kayaks through downtown.

About a dozen kayakers wearing protest signs set off from the Riverwalk along the East Bank Club. They were there as part of the "Clean It Up, Tyson!” Campaign, which hosted a “Kayak Against Pollution” that targeted the Tyson Foods and industrial meat industry.

Tyson, based in Missouri, was fined $2 million dollars earlier this year for discharges that killed more than 100,000 fish.

Lindsey Lieck, who was with the group Mighty Earth, wore a bib with a picture of a chicken and the words, "don't fowl our water."

Because it is hard to hold protest signs and paddle at the same time, the demonstrators made bibs that fit over their life jackets with their messages.
