CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Emanuel is outlining what he says are his top priorities for Chicago’s neighborhoods in the upcoming years, and transportation looms large.

Emanuel used a Wednesday appearance at a Bronzeville forum to trumpet what he said are investments in neighborhoods all across the city, some of them paid for by downtown developers through the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund.

When he was asked for his own top priorities, the mayor first listed the extension of the CTA's  Red Line south from 95th Street to 130th Street.

He and the CTA are also trying to work with developer Elon Musk on a high-tech express transit line from Downtown to O’Hare. And Midway modernization is underway, too.

Emanuel said getting a state transportation bill passed is high on the agenda as well.
