ELGIN, ILL. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A trip to pick up prescription medication in northwest suburban Elgin Thursday leads to a loss and a public appeal.

A woman's purse was stolen from her car while she was returning a cart in a Jewel parking lot on Larkin in Elgin.

Her friends are making an appeal on her behalf because of what was inside of it.

One item is a notebook that had crucial information and appointment notes for her friend's husband.

"He has cancer. He is in hopsice right now," Kerry Martinez Reynolds explained.

Martinez Reynolds also told WBBM, "If anybody knows any information about it, if they could go to the Elgin police, there is a report that is on file."

The woman would also like to get back the rosary beads that once belonged to her mother.
