Drew Peterson Attorney Joel Brodsky's Law License Suspended

June 19, 2019 - 4:51 pm

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) –  Well-known Chicago attorney Joel Brodsky has had  his law license suspended.

The Illinois Supreme Court made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Brodsky is best known for representing former Bolingbrook Police Officer Drew Peterson, who was convicted of killing a former wife, Kathleen Savio.

In April, Brodsky was suspended from practicing in federal court in Chicago for one year, stemming from his volatile tactics in a lawsuit.

Brodsky has also been the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, the state regulatory agency responsible for disciplining lawyers.

He has also represented Chicago Police Officer Robert Rialmo, who fired the shots that killed 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier and 55-year-old Bettie Jones in December 2015. Rialmo was responding to a disturbance call when, he says, LeGrier charged at him with a bat. Jones was a neighbor; the city said her death was an accident.
