Ditka: What Bears Are Doing Is 'Pretty Special'

(670 The Score) The Bears have garnered renewed attention and praise amid a 3-1 start, including from a legend in franchise history.

That would be none other than Mike Ditka, coach of the Super Bowl champion 1985 Bears. Ditka is particularly high on the Bears defense, which leads the NFL in sacks, is second in takeaways and is third in points allowed per game.

"Defensively, I wouldn't compare anything with the '85 Bears -- those guys were pretty darn good," Ditka said in an interview with 670 The Score recently. "But this defense, they got a real chance to have the same kind of numbers, better numbers than we had in '85. They really do."

Ditka believes the Bears have plenty of room to improve too.

"What they're doing right now is pretty special," Ditka said. "If they can keep plugging away on offense, they'll keep getting better. But that defense is going to keep them in a lot of games."
