CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Blue Line L service to O'Hare was interrupted temporarily Monday afternoon by a deer on the tracks.

A CTA spokesman said there was an injured deer on the tracks near the Harlem stop.

It's not clear if the animal was hit by a train.

Spokesman Jon Kaplan says staffers notified them of the deer around 1:20 p.m. Shuttle buses carried riders between Harlem and O'Hare, until the animal was removed.

The Chicago Fire Deparment said the animal was alive and in custody of animal control officials. Blue Line service was resuming, with delays.
