Cubs Place Kris Bryant On Disabled List With Shoulder Soreness

June 26, 2018 - 6:13 pm

(670 The Score) -- The Cubs have placed third baseman Kris Bryant on the 10-day disabled list with left shoulder inflammation, they announced ahead of a game at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday evening.

Bryant has missed the past three games with the soreness, so the move is retroactive to Saturday. Bryant is hitting .280 with nine homers and 36 RBIs this season, but he's experienced a power outage lately. He has just one homer since May 14.

Bryant's trip to the DL was just one of a series of roster moves for the Cubs on Tuesday. They also placed right-handed reliever Justin Hancock on the DL with right shoulder inflammation and optioned right-hander Duane Underwood Jr. back to Triple-A Iowa after he made his big league debut in a 2-1 loss Monday night.
