CHICAGO (WBBM CHICAGO) -- A decision from the CTA is likely to warm a lot of commuters' hearts – literally -- during our unseasonal return to wintry weather.

CTA riders know well that electric warmers providing heat on train platforms are only in operation from Nov. 1 through March 31.

That assumes temperatures are in the 50s.

This year, with temps stuck in the 30s, shivering commuters have been asking the CTA for a little warmth.

On Twitter, the transit agency said it would turn the heat back on for awhile.
