CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Fire men’s soccer team is moving to Soldier Field in 2020.

The Fire, which has played its home games in suburban Bridgeview, will move to the Bears’ lakefront venue, officials announced Tuesday.

The team will play their first home game at Soldier Field on March 21, 2020, against Atlanta. Team officials hope for a sellout crowd.

“On this anniversary of both the Great Chicago Fire and the founding of our team, my goal is to deliver a world-class club worthy of our city and one that represents all of Chicago — our neighborhoods, our people and our spirit,” owner Joe Mansueto said in a message posted online.

Ticket prices are not expected to rise next season.

Sixty-eight fans who have held season tickets from the club’s beginning will get free admission in 2020.
