CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Whether their team won or not, soccer fans in Chicago seemed pretty happy with the World Cup Final.

Fans lined the sidewalk an hour before the Globe opened it’s doors Sunday morning in North Center. By game time, fans seemed to be evenly split between the two teams.

Many France supporters were impressed by the team’s youth and talent.

“They’re individually very gifted and they together nicely as a team,” one fan said. “It’s fun to watch.”

Rose’s dad is from Croatia, and while they didn’t win, she was feeling proud.

“We already won because we went farther than any Croatian team has ever gone before,” she said.

With six goals between the two teams, there was plenty to cheer about. France eventually won 4-2, capping off a tournament some say was the best in recent memory.
