CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It’s a dream Made in Chicago.

“Chicago is a city where I’ve been able to realize so many of my dreams, that it feels only fitting to help others achieve theirs as well,” says David Avram, the founder and CEO of Great Central Brewing Company on Chicago’s Near West Side.

Avram, a real-estate developer, combined that goal with his love of beer to build Great Central Brewing Company on the Near West Side. It brews, packages and distributes craft beers from 19 microbrewers, freeing them to focus on their creativity.

“Essentially what we do for them is a full turnkey production process of sourcing raw ingredients, brewing the beers to their specifications, packaging those beers and then assisting with their distribution,” Avram explains.

Avram said in less than 3 years, “We’ve gone from zero barrels of production to just shy of 30,000 barrels of production.”

Looking forward, he says: “I see us going beyond beer as we grow. There are so many amazing food startups in Chicago that are beverage-based. Some of the best coffee I’ve had in the country is in Chicago. Canned wine. You see canned sake, you see canned sodas, canned organic products, waters.”

Just like the craft beers, Avram hopes someday to help other craft beverage makers succeed with what they’ve Made in Chicago.
