Chicago Announces 2020 Blues Festival Lineup

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It may only be February, but Chicago is already thinking about summer!

Mayor Lightfoot and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) announced Tuesday the the 37th Annual Chicago Blues Festival lineup.

The 37th Annual Chicago Blues Festival kicks off Friday, June 5 and will include a three-day lineup of all star performers including headliners Shemekia Copeland, Candi Staton, Eric Gales and more!

With a diverse lineup celebrating the blues’ past, present, and future on six stages, the Chicago Blues Festival shares the great Chicago-born music tradition while shining a spotlight on the genre’s contributions to soul, R&B, gospel, rock, hip hop and more, DCASE wrote in a statement.

The festival begins each day at 11 a.m. on a variety of stages, with headline performances taking place at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion from 5-9 p.m. The 37th Annual Chicago Blues Festival will be held in Millennium Park. Admission is free. For complete details, visit

The event aligns with the city's 2020 Year of Music, and is part of Chicago In Tune, the new 18-day celebration of music at venues and organizations across the city from May 21 to June 7.
