CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Amazon Go is open in Chicago.

Monday was Day One for the grab-and-go store, Amazon's first outside Seattle.

With a swipe of your Amazon Go app, you're inside Amazon Go on Franklin near Monroe.

And then it's just a matter of strolling the 2,000-square-foot store to pick up things off the shelves.

Pick it up: It's put on your tab. Put it back, it's taken off your tab.

And you walk out -- no cashier involved -- feeling only slightly like a shoplifter.

Adam Lincoln, 23, works in the area. He does not miss dealing with a cashier or a checkout line.

"Because I'm coming here with my friends already,” he said. It's not like I find the human interaction necessary. I completely understand the efficiency, so I don't necessarily miss it. It might sound a little bit cynical, but...."

And while there's no line to check out, there was a line to get in on Monday.
