CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chance the Rapper has touched off speculation, a few hopes and some excitement with a Tweet about a possible appearance at City Hall Tuesday.

WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore has that story.

It was a cryptic but specific tweet that got people talking. The Chicago-based musician put the seal of the City of Chicago on Twitter and announced he’d hold a 10 a.m. news conference “pull up” at City Hall regarding the mayoral election.

Earlier, he had tweeted, “I’m thinking maybe I should,” which seems to be a reference to his 2015 song, “Somewhere in Paradise," in which he references a mayoral bid.

Chance, born Chancelor Bennett, has been politically and socially active and has donated to the Chicago Public Schools system, along with buying the Chicagoist news website.

His father has endorsed Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle for mayor.

The Twitterverse is buzzing.
