CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- After cracked beams prompted closures on Lake Shore Drive earlier this month, the Chicago Department of Transportation has reviewed conditions of similar bridges.

CDOT Spokesman Mike Claffey said inspections last week found "no significant issues" with similar structures at the Fullerton Avenue Bridge over the Chicago River and the viaduct linking Wacker Drive to Lake Shore Drive.

He said Fullerton had some repair work done last fall.

Meanwhile, the first of the steel pieces ordered for permanent repairs on the Lake Shore Drive viaduct is expected to arrive next week.

Claffey said they hope to keep all lanes of the drive open when they replace them next month.

After that, crews plan to work on the Lake Shore Drive Bridge over the Chicago River as part of the Navy Pier Flyover project.
