CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More information is coming out about the recent theft from a pot dispensary on the city’s North Side.

The theft happened just after 3 a.m. Jan. 6 at MOCA's Logan Square dispensary.

According to police, someone used an employee key card to gain entry into MOCA - Modern Cannabis, located at 2847 W. Fullerton, after it was closed; then, according to the Sun Times, which obtained a incident report from Chicago police, used a blow torch to open a safe and stole an estimated $200,000 cash. At some point before leaving, the person deactivated the store’s camera system, the report said.

Police suspect an inside job, but a suspect has not yet been caught.

The burglary happened five days after recreational marijuana became legal in Illinois

A limited number of banks accept cash from marijuana dispensaries, because marijuana remains illegal at the federal level.
